Permits and Approvals Management
|
GeoPlan provides a full suite of applications for managing
municipal operations. This page describes the Permits and Approvals
Module. Building inspection and planning departments can automate
permits and other approvals with GeoPlan. Application information is easily
recorded and you can track and schedule approval steps, inspections and
meetings. You can even specify that a validation check be performed before
permit issuance to insure that builders meet certain insurance and license requirements.
Application and permit forms can be easily designed to suit your needs and
monthly detail and summary reporting is fully automated with GeoPlan.
Flexible set-up procedures are used to define the types of
permits and related fees that your municipality issues and tracks. GeoPlan
makes it easy for you to track multiple fees associated with a single permit.
But this module is not limited to permits and inspections GeoPlan gives you
the flexibility to define any type of approval process that you need to
track.
Inspections are treated as one type of action that can be
associated with a permit. The inspection types and other actions defined by
you at set-up conveniently appear in a drop-down menu when you are entering
permit actions. Because you define the number and types of actions, you control
the level of process detail you can capture with GeoPlan to track permitting
and inspections or any other type of approval process you define.
Catch typing errors before they muddy your database. GeoPlan
will alert you if the parcel number you assign to a new permit is invalid.
You can also set up validation checks to insure that you have current license
and insurance data on file for a contractor before you issue a permit. And
everywhere in GeoPlan that you enter a street or subdivision name, valid
choices are presented from which to choose, eliminating spelling errors and
variations in road type abbreviations (AV or AVE) and plan-numbering schemes
(Plan 2 or Plan II.) |
