Property Data Management
|
GeoPlan provides a full suite of applications for managing municipal
planning and zoning, permitting, and code enforcement operations. This page
describes the Property Management modules. Property data management forms the core of GeoPlan. The
Property Management module organizes data pertaining to individual properties
or parcels in your municipality. Basic parcel identification and ownership
data can be easily imported from public records. Other important property
data such as waste collection days, environmental hazards, and infrastructure
availability can also be added to the database. Transfers of property
ownership are quickly and easily updated in seconds.
GeoPlan includes features to help you review permitting and
other activity histories for a specific parcel. Six notepads are available
and can be customized to log notes from Planning Commission and Zoning Board
meetings or anything else you wish to record and keep as part of the parcel
record.
Each property can be categorized according to its zoning
classification, census codes, land use, watershed, etc. These classifications
are organized on the Classifications page, which also provides eight
user-definable checkmark items which you can use to track additional
classifications of importance to your municipality.
Because the parcel is central to so many daily municipal
activities, GeoPlan's Property Management module makes it easy to transfer
data from a parcel record to other GeoPlan activity modules. Think of
permitting, code enforcement, resident service requests, preparing lien
letters - in each case the activity references a specific parcel. GeoPlan
lets you link directly from the subject parcel record to issue a permit in
the Permits module, a violation in the Code Enforcement module, to enter a
service request, or to generate a new zoning appeal case. When you link from
a parcel record to create a new record in another activity module, required
data from the parcel record is automatically transferred to the new record.
This feature saves you time, and because it eliminates data-entry errors, it
helps to insure that accurate relationships are maintained between the parcel
record and all associated activity records. |
Folder buttons on the History page
give you instant access to the subject parcel's previous permits, owners,
zoning appeals, violations, and service requests. And you can define the
topics for memo notepads which are available to record free-form notations.
You can also paste text from other documents and images into the notepads. |
