Requests for Services

GeoPlan provides a full suite of applications for managing municipal operations. This page describes GeoPlan's Requests for Services module.

GeoPlan's Requests for Services module can be used by any municipal department to log, categorize, and track service requests or complaints from residents, or from other municipal departments. Incident numbering of each new request makes it easy to subsequently attach details of remedial actions taken. And the information captured in this module is ideal for generating hard-copy work orders.

Document Your Service Activity

Perhaps the greatest value of implementing service request tracking is the ability it gives you to easily produce reports that provide meaningful management information. Need to know the number of sanitary system problems reported in the past month? Past year? Compared to last year? Or maybe you'd like to track the changes in the number of routine calls for recycling information following an informative mailing or website posting. Or produce detailed district reports for council members. GeoPlan's report library can be used to store templates for these and any other reports you might need so they can be generated on demand.

Flexibility for Future Needs

As in all of GeoPlan, data entry is facilitated by drop-down menus that contain options you define using flexible set-up procedures. Call-takers, responding staff, district codes, request categories, priority assignments - all of these are custom-tailored to your needs. Additional categories can be added at any time, giving you the ability to track new situations on an ad hoc basis.

Direct Access from the Parcel Record

GeoPlan gives you convenient access to a specific parcel's request incidents from within the parcel record itself. While viewing parcel data in the Property Management module, simply click the Requests button on the History page to view the full set of request records associated with that parcel.

Similarly, two clicks on the Property Management menu bar will generate a new incident record for the subject parcel in the Requests for Services module. The parcel number, address, and owner name will be automatically transferred from the parcel record to the related fields in the Requests record. This feature saves you time, and, because it eliminates data entry errors, insures that an accurate relationship is maintained between the parcel and service request record.
