Roads and Pavement Management
|
GeoPlan provides a full suite of applications for managing
municipal operations. This page describes GeoPlan's Roads and Pavement
Management module. GeoPlan helps you
inventory and manage elements and activities in your municipal roads system.
Designed in close collaboration with municipal DPW staff, GeoPlan's Roads and
Pavement Management module helps you automate your operations, leading to
efficient manpower utilization, effective use of funding and better
decision-making. Fingertip
Access to Road Data Data maintained for
each road segment include length, surface and base materials, ROW and
shoulder width, functional class terminal X, Y coordinates, intersecting
streets, posted speed limits, route coding for snow and refuse removal, and
more. Specific features
provide support for generating contract bid specifications and bid packages,
and for easily estimating budget requirements. Instead of spending hours
calculating costs, GeoPlan will produce your bid details from street
assessment data you have already entered. Maintenance items are selected from
a drop-down menu that you can easily revise to meet your needs. Add standard
boilerplate language and your bid package is ready to distribute. The Materials data
page is used to set-up an estimated unit cost for various maintenance items,
which you can use to generate an overall estimated cost for your entire
program. Compare this to your available budget to determine if certain items
may need to be deferred or considered as alternates in your bidding process. Signage and Appurtenance Inventory Record a complete
inventory and history of signage along a street. GeoPlan treats signage as
one type of appurtenance occurring along a street segment. Multiple
occurrences per road segment can be accommodated. You can enter details on
the type of sign, location, material, support type, condition, dates,
authorizing ordinances and notes. And, as in every GeoPlan module, the
options that appear on the menus you use to expedite data entry are defined
by you at set-up. |
